Short answer - Yes. This is the exact refill kit that Dr. Tan uses personally and gives to his students and clients on expeditions. We included only the key trauma items you need to save lives and removed any fluff.
These are all industry standard emergency equipment sourced directly from one of the most trusted suppliers in the USA. You can definitely find cheaper options on the internet, but you pay for what you get - and that's a risk we do not recommend.
Yes, there are items for minor wounds and injuries that would be helpful to have in your main first-aid kit. These are items you likely already have or can purchase from any vendor (very similar between suppliers)
We recommend at least one trauma kit in your main pack and one in your day bag. Your main pack may be your large medical pack for your whole household made to be used on extended trips or disaster situations. Your day pack trauma kit would be a smaller essentials pack for any spontaneous adventures or car travel. Many choose to carry some items on their person at all times for emergencies. There are some individual items that you may want more of as well.
Although items like the CAT tourniquet don't technically expire, they should be inspected periodically to make sure they don't have any defects. Expect them to last 5-10 years. Similarly, you can expect similar shelf lives for sterile bandages still in their packaging. You can see the manufacturer's expiration date on each item.
We make our trauma first-aid kits to order from North American Rescue so if we have stock, we ship out within 10-14 business days. If we have to order a new batch, it may take longer but we will notify you first!
