My Story

Early Life

At a young age, Teimojin fell in love with the outdoors and started solo-travelling in East Africa, South America, and Asia. He grew a fascination with nomadic living, traditional medicine, and the survival skills.

However, during his adventures abroad he also witnessed tremendous poverty and suffering, igniting his passion to serve communities in resource-limited areas.

After several close calls of his own and seeing countless people dying in the streets, he decided to become someone who would save lives.

Career

In order to start his education, Teimojin served 6 years in the Canadian Armed Forces, specializing in cold-weather warfare, which allowed him to later focus his efforts on disaster-relief and international development.

Working with non-profit organizations, he lead projects in Ghana, Ecuador, and Kenya and helped to build schools, provide fresh clean water to rural clinics, and developed a food security program for HIV patients.

He graduated medical school from Michigan State University, trained in Family Medicine and Emergency Medicine, and then specialized in Wilderness Medicine.

Everything came to a halt during the COVID pandemic, when many doctors were overworked, understaffed, and absolutely miserable and burnt out. It was hard to connect his original passion for the outdoors with his mission to help underserved communities and he almost gave up.

Fate gave him the opportunity to test his abilities as a survivalist and doctor on Season 9 of History Channel's Hit Survival Show "ALONE" where he has to survive alone (no supporting film crews!) in the cold and wet subarctic of Labrador, Canada with only 10 items.

When he returned as one of the finalists from the Alone challenge, thousands flocked to him to learn more about medical preparedness in extreme settings, thus refining his mission to help families prepare for medical emergencies in survival situations.

Giving Back

Teimojin's mission for Survival Doctors® extends beyond education and aims to fund micro-infrastructure projects in rural underserved communities abroad and Native American Reserves in North America.

Teimojin hopes to volunteer his time and expertise as a doctor in these communities while helping to coordinate local projects.

Personal Life

Teimojin is a family man, married to his loving wife Gabrielle, and cat daddy to Makkovik and Manchego. Together they are hoping to start a family in the near future.

All the resources and training that Teimojin provides are family-focused for those who want to keep their loved ones safe during adventures and unforeseen emergencies.
